Our understanding of Least Tern migration is limited; however, these birds are typically spotted along ocean shores, in river valleys, and sometimes far out at sea. In South America, wintering Least Terns tend to inhabit coastal areas, bays, and estuaries, often found in proximity to the mouths of rivers.
