Nico Robin was created by Oda to have brown eyes and pale skin. However, unlike other characters, a colored reference was not provided to Toei Animation. As a result, the studio had to make estimations regarding her appearance, mistakenly deciding on dark skin and blue eyes. After the time skip, they corrected her skin tone to white.
