As the youngest member of the renowned acrobatic troupe known as the Flying Graysons, Grayson witnesses the horrific murder of his parents at the hands of mafia boss Tony Zucco, who sought to extort money from the circus that employed them. Following this tragedy, Bruce Wayne takes Grayson under his wing as his legal ward and trains him to become his sidekick, Robin.
