They have been assigned a score of 7 out of 20 on the Continental Concern Score, which suggests they are a species that does not currently face significant conservation issues. However, it’s worth noting that Osprey populations experienced a dramatic decline between the early 1950s and 1970s due to the adverse effects of pesticides, which caused poisoning and led to thinner eggshells.
