The drakes of the Wood Duck species showcase the most vibrant plumage among all ducks in North America. Their head and crest exhibit striking metallic shades of green and purple, complemented by a distinctive white line that runs from the base of the bill above the eye, as well as another line behind the eye along the crest. Additionally, their throat and neck are also adorned in white.
