Current Population Status of Least Terns

By the year 2021, thanks to extensive conservation efforts, the population of Least Terns had risen to approximately 18,000. This positive growth has led to the species' removal from the Endangered Species List. On the island of Bonaire, located in the southern Caribbean, these resourceful birds have been observed occasionally occupying abandoned nests of American Flamingos.
