Sparrowhawks are undoubtedly clever hunters, demonstrating their intelligence by occasionally pursuing prey on foot. They can target small mammals and a variety of other food sources. For instance, Russell Pannell recounted an incident from last December when a Sparrowhawk successfully captured a Brown Rat from beneath a bird table.
