The youngest member of the acrobatic family known as the Flying Graysons, Grayson witnessed the murder of his parents by mafia boss Tony Zucco. Zucco's motive was to extort money from the circus that employed the Graysons. Following this tragedy, Bruce Wayne took Grayson in as his legal ward and trained him to become his partner, Robin.
